Preparation

 Hola!

I am preparing a new camino, the Inglès, 110 km starting from Ferrol on the north coast of Galicia. The reason for this walk is to try and find out why I had a problem with my left knee and with my left big toe when I walked with my daughter Andrea from Córdoba to Mérida in May.

It is also a way to find out whether I can still do a camino alone, completely, not only the planning, but also the walking, the checking in to albergues/hostels/hotels, finding places to eat in the evening, etc, etc. In 2017 I walked the Camino de Torres from Salamanca - two weeks alone before I was joined by Andrea in Lamego.  Since then every year I have always walked my whole camino with at least one of my children. Although I always did the planning they are much better at  finding nice restaurants, organising taxis, etc. – especially Andrea who is very efficient, very fast, doing it all on her phone and I comfortably let her.

So now I am slightly stressed. My pack is packed. I have got my tickets - will take myself to the Lannion railway staition, where I leave my car, train to Rennes, coach to Bordeaux, change to a coach to A Coruña in the middle of the night, bus from A Coruña to the Albergue de Peregrinos in Ferrol where I will stay the night.

Voilà, the plan. Now I have to see how to set up a blog, something else Andrea has always done for me.

Done – a struggle, but I succeeded without asking anybody for help!

Now how to add photos. Cannot remember how we did it previously. I have taken a photo of my pack to practice on the blog…

  1. Noch 1 Tipp zum bergabgehen: nicht vorne die Schuhe festbinden sondern hinten, ganz festknallen von Mitte bis hinten, so dass die Ferse den Fuß hält.
